Senior Project - Trails of Anamnesis

Most advertising is digital and stands still with almost nothing interactive. The shows and artists that I hold close to my heart interact with the people enjoying their medium and make sure the audience is the main focus. I want to create a story that is interactive in multiple different mediums to see which one is more popular than another. Interactive pieces of the story are my main motivation.

The overall story:

The story begins with something seemingly ordinary. A missing poster featuring a phone number. When viewers call or text it, they’re pulled straight into the mystery: “Can you help me find Roxx?”

Sebastian, the desperate voice on the other end, reveals his fractured memory. All he knows for sure is that RoxxAnne is missing—and he’s trapped, with nothing but this one phone number to reach the outside world. He is a guide to the viewers—pointing out details, and nudging the viewers to notice the strange threads hiding in the entries RoxxAnne left behind

These entries are cryptic messages that lead to a website titled The Trials of Anamnesis—a breadcrumb trail she left behind in hopes someone could piece it all together. The very first entry is chilling: “THEY ARE ONTO US” hidden within the text.

This mysterious site is the heartbeat of the story, packed with hidden details and Easter eggs. Within every locked door: videos, heartfelt letters, and cryptic messages from the town—each one pulling you deeper into the mystery of RoxxAnne’s disappearance.

To bring this interactive vision to life,

I integrated a range of immersive elements: augmented reality experiences, motion design, physical letters, and even a tangible gift for those who engage with the story. Every detail in this capstone project is designed to blur the line between fiction and reality.

This invites the audience to not just witness the mystery, but to become part of it.

Motion design

Memory 1

Roxx goes to the doctor’s after falling into the river. She finds that not only does the doctor know what’s going on, but what she has been seeing are his memories.

The doctor confronts the lead of the town, Nezetta. It’s there Roxx finds a carved duck, ones that her dad used to make. This revelation changes her whole perspective.

Augmented reality

Because this project was a passion project of mine, I wanted to try my hand in Augmented Reality and how I could implement it in the story. I used the digital hints that I created and used Aero to have it move around after you scanned a QR code to see the clues.

Book of process
